My first yoga class was an incredibly empowering experience (on and off the mat). A dear friend had suggested yoga during a time in my life when I was battling with high stress & anxiety. That first day of yoga is where my new journey started... I fell in love from day one. Several yoga classes later, I felt a new sense of ease and peace come over me. I felt more connected with myself and I wondered how much yoga could have potentially helped me in my earlier years? I knew at this point that I wanted to share my new found love for yoga with others in the community.

Fast forward three years later. I decided to follow my heart and I left my 20+ yr. career as a corporate retail trainer and started my formal yoga training. I truly feel that yoga and meditation have helped guide me to a more authentic self. Yoga is the perfect way to connect, play, breathe, be in the moment and have FUN with my family, friends and the Austin community. I believe yoga is for EVERYONE which is why I enjoy teaching children, family and adults of ALL levels. My hope is to help those around me cultivate skills to take into their daily lives while creating a safe space for them to nourish their mind, body & spirit. You can always expect a gentle flow and guided meditation designed especially for your personal needs…

My studies include Family & Consumer Science at Texas State University, a 30-hour Kids and Family yoga training at The Little Yoga House (where I’m currently a teacher’s assistant at their Yoga Peace School). I’ve also completed my 200 YTT in Costa Rica with Multi Style Yoga International. You can find me teaching all around Austin at locations like Sanctuary Yoga, Shape Up Corporate Fitness or with my recently created mobile business, ATX YOGA GIRL (offering yoga to ANYONE, ANYWHERE). I also enjoy volunteering for Amala Foundation and Girls Empowerment Network. When I’m not teaching yoga you can find me hiking, painting, traveling, listening to live music and building community with my husband, family & friends.

I look forward to meeting you and helping you with your yoga journey.

With gratitude,

Cynthia Bernard | ATX YOGA GIRL
